The time is near!
It’s time for my annual Christmas post, Pam’s 2019 Christmas post, to be exact.
Time also for plans, people, and packages around the tree.
Plans for lights, peppermint cheesecake, and non-stop Christmas music.
Plans at our house for Christmas Eve include 3 of our 4 children, homemade enchiladas, and hopefully lots of laugher. (Calie will stay in Hawaii this year.)
However, my best present won’t be under the tree. In fact, it won’t come until March. Chelsea and Jacob are expecting a little son, my first grandchild!!
For Pam’s 2019 Christmas post, I’d like to share the top 7 things of 2019 for the Jacobsen family.
#7. My father-in-law is battling cancer at 80 years old. 🙁
#6. We helped one of my sisters out of a bad relationship/situation. She’s free and safe now, but has some work to do emotionally.
#5. Like last year, I’m learning and growing through great messages at church and “doing life” with my T-Life group each week. ♥
#4. I volunteered with Compassion International at Tenth Avenue North’s Decade the Halls Christmas concert.
They sang Christmas songs, wore costumes, and danced in the style of each decade from the 1920s to the present. It was fabulous and fun!
Bonus that the concert was at my church. Thirty childrens’ lives were forever changed as they were “adopted” that night. ♥
Tenth Avenue North put on a fantastic show
I hope you’re enjoying “Pam’s 2019 Christmas Post” so far…now on to the top 3 of 2019.
#3. Rick had shoulder surgery in October and was off work for 7 weeks. Therefore, we had time to take a quick fall vacation.
We visited Branson, MO, because we’d never been there. I think we missed the most beautiful part of the leaves by about 2 weeks, but it was still nice.
Out of the 3 places/museums that we went to, the Titanic Museum was by far the best. We spent 3.5 hours there! The Hollywood Wax Museum and Ripley’s Believe It or Not were the other two.
Besides the museums, we took a dinner cruise on Table Rock Lake via the Branson Belle. We strolled through the decorated grounds and gift shops.
A beautiful 70° evening allowed us to spend a lot of time out on the deck. It was great!!
The Branson Belle
#2. We again went hiking in the Rockies, but this year took Chelsea and Jacob with us.
Of course, Luke spent some time with us, too. 🙂
We conquered another new hike this year.
Climbing up a waterfall, we made it to Sky Pond. This hike was challenging, but so rewarding!
In 1 day, we looked upon 2 lakes and 3 moose!! Deer regularly visited us at our airbnb in Estes.
#1…The biggest news this year was finding out that Chelsea is pregnant!
They “told” us the morning that we left for our vacation. I was in the van already and they handed me an envelope. See below.
We had to keep it secret for about 2 months until they were ready to tell everyone else (other than family).
I’ll be 58 when he is born. My grandma and mom were first grandmas when they were around 40! I’ve been waiting a long time. 😉
This is the best coupon I’ve ever had!
I’d like to wish you a Christmas abounding with love and merriness.
…and the time IS near, so I will wrap this up and leave you with a few more Christmas scenes to enjoy.
Blessings and blooms,
Pam
