My best friend Rhonda Thompson and I gazed blissfully at the TV screen. It was 1971, and we were in 3rd grade. David Cassidy of the Partridge Family was singing “I think I love you” and we were in heaven!
Rhonda’s sister rudely interrupted us and announced that I was to go home “right now.” WHAT? In the middle of the show?!
As I stomped outside to walk across the street to my house, the most gorgeous thing stopped me dead in my tracks. There was a beautiful, brand-new purple and blue bike with my name on it!
I have always loved all shades of purple.
I thought it might be fun to do some “color” posts. I will start with the best color. 🙂 Since periwinkle is not all that prevalent, I am including other shades of purple and blue for your enjoyment. If you have seen some of these images before, grant me grace. I hope you will take the time to click on them to see their beauty up close.
Ready, set, enjoy all the periwinkle with me!

Glad you’re here!
Max has a stuffed cat named “Periwinkle.” The cat is a character from Blues Clues! Thought you’d like that! Love that color as well!
Love that! 🙂
Love all your periwinkle pictures! My personal favorite is probably the castle!!! I am a Disney lover and have a similar picture on my iphone home screen:)
Thanks, Jane. Yes, that castle is stunning with the night lighting!
I swear you’re an angel. I came across your post on fb in the midst of an extremely stressful situation so I opened it. Like you, my favorite color is any shade of purple! Within seconds I was in my “happy place”. Needless to say I loved this post. I’ve also found many treasures at what I call “curb sales”. Thanks for inviting me back into your world! I am also a huge red, white & blue fanatic. Maybe an idea for the future!
Jewels, I am glad my posts are helpful to you. 🙂 Thanks for the idea! I will see what I can find. Actually, I got a great pic of some red carnations today. I love carnations!
I loved the pictures!!
Thanks, seester! 🙂
