Snowy adventures in Colorado.  Travel, family, and lots of activities made for a good ending to 2016.

Hello and welcome back.  I’ve missed you!  Hope your holidays were ones to remember.  I think ours were.  🙂

All 4

Since we last talked, my family has been to Colorado and back (out there for only 2 days).  It was a fast and fun time!

We got to Luke’s place in Loveland Friday night for his grad party.

First time in a long time to have all 4 of our children together.

4 siblings

While we were there, it started snowing (to put it mildly!)  That area got around 5 inches in a couple of hours.

The kids went out to load Calie’s luggage and came back frozen and in shock!  Snow and wind had assaulted them furiously!  Be sure to click on the images below to see them larger; I think they’re funny!  😛

The snow limited our visibility as we tentatively made our way 17 miles back to the hotel in Fort Collins.

We were “caravaning” with Grandma Jordan and Grandpa Bob; their pickup had no front- or 4-wheel drive.  😯

 ‘Twas certainly a snowy adventure!

With Saturday morning came Luke’s graduation.  It was good, and we got some rare “whole family” pictures.  😀

After eating, we drove up the Poudre Canyon just outside of Fort Collins.  Seeing the mountains again so soon was lovely.

Have you been to Old Town?

Later, when it was dark, we went to Old Town in Fort Collins to see the lights.  They were amazing!

We ordered pizza that night.  Our hotel had a nice large gathering area so we were all able to eat together.

We hung out in the pool, whirlpool, and sauna before we called it a night.  Good times!

This sure put us in the mood for Christmas!

Sunday morning we took off for home.  Luke followed us to Omaha a few days later while Lacey and Dave escaped to Oregon.

We then had a busy and fun 2 weeks (with no more snowy adventures!):

Get-togethers, cooking/out to eat, taco night.  Going with 2 kids to get new phones (ugh!) as well as helping kids with their shopping.  Going to the gym with Calie.

Awesome Christmas Eve service at church, presents, seeing Christmas lights and fireworks…  AND a Christmas Day thunderstorm, including lightning, with plenty of silliness!

Beautiful!

Before Luke went back home to start his “full-time job” of looking for a job, Calie took us all out to Longhorn.

Hawaii

Then, very soon it was time to send her off to Hawaii for 3 years.  We left at 4 a.m. New Year’s Day for the airport.

It was hard saying goodbye, but the good visit made it a little easier.  🙂

Calie wants us all to visit her in Hawaii!

We had a good ending to 2016, and I hope you did as well. Our snowy adventures are over, but the memories are here forever.

Thank you for allowing me to share the joy of family! ♥
